IDE settings

Post by Harrison Pratt » 30 Jan 2018 14:50

I just noticed that when I open Tools > Configure Tools... or Tools > IDE Variables... in VIP 8 PE that my settings from VIP 7.5 CE are preserved in 8.0 PE.

That's a really nice feature, but it makes me wonder if there's a conflict between installations of the 2 different versions. I used the default installation directory (Program Files (x386).

Where are the various Tool settings stored?

Such settings are stored in registry (in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Prolog Development Center\Visual Prolog6).

Here at PDC we are very used to working with numerous different versions of side-by-side and we don't have conflicts between them. (Except then you may accidentally open a project in an unintended version).
