Hi, I am sorry for the problems with Arsaniit. This site is now mainly a crash test site for some web tests and not a personal Visual Prolog code repository anymore. I have not been using Visual Prolog for month (years ?) for some reasons that are of no interest here - I think the last version I hav...

Hi, Sorry David for the problem. You may download (for a limited time) the archive there : http://www.arsaniit.com/vp_tools/download/ebutton14_72.zip PM me if you are looking for a specific code, I will try to digg in my archives. I won't update the code I published since I don't use VP anymore (eve...

Arsaniit is down for the moment but his may help you (sorry for the format it is a copy/past of the arsaniit page) : (beware, DO NOT try to run a service 32 bit on an OS 64 bits - VP is 32 bits, so it can only be used to build 32 bits exe) Regards Gildas A Service is a program launched at machine's ...

Returning a list is not an option since it can easily exceed the size of the memory. Anyway, no problem to craft a class with dedicated mutex. another question : Monitor for class uses a mutex at class level (class fact), does monitor for interface uses a monitor at instance level ? Thank you ! Rega...

Monitor with interfaces

I am playing with the nice monitor feature - thank you, no more mutex to track - and have a question : namespace gfc interface hashtable{@Key,@Value} open core predicates clear: (). % @short clears the content % @detail % @end put: (@Key, @Value) procedure (i,i). % @short adds a value to the hashtab...

Hi Thomas, Yes. As a workaround, I create now the controls in the default directory and move the generated code to the target directory and then manually patch the .pack, .ph code to deal with the directory change. It works that way. Not very practical (!), but it works anyway. Not a big deal, if I ...

community fundation classes

a suggestion What about contributing to a community fundation class project (cfc)? Each one of us has home made predicates and classes to complement the pfc, why not share it ? We could define a directory structure for this parallel fundation class (duplicating the structure of pfc). Each contributo...

Hi Steve, Thank you for trying. This probably means that my install could be corrupted (?). I'll try to reinstall it. - edited - reinstall does no good. When I create the control with default status, the event tab is populated (see the picture : the custom control huihui.ctl is ok and works perfect ...

UI designer & trouble

Hi, I have trouble with the interface designer and custom control (VIP 7.3). When I create a new custom control (or draw control) the 'event' part of the UI Designer remains empty. I contacted the support for this problem (and they answered me very fast - thank you). Anyway, I cannot succeed in maki...

Hi Carlos, I suppose you want to use a kind of 'splash screen'. The attached code may help you. It should be unzipped in a vp_extensions folder in your project (vp_extensions\splash). Just create a splash dialog using display(this, "yourimage.bmp", 2000) and it will show and close itself after a few...

Hi Carlos,

you can use the webbrowser provided by PDC (see the examples) or use my wrapping of IE as a customControl and call ie:gotoURL("file://yourfile.html"). Tell me if you need the wrapping for vp 7.3.

best regards

Strange bug (?)

Hi, Win 7 64 bits + Visual Prolog 7.3. Sometimes the compiler/IDE catches the attached error and then I have to restart the IDE or restart the computer to get the process to end. 'Sometimes' means that it happens with no special project - but mainly with projects that involves many classes (> 40). R...

Do you use some 3rd party dll ? My #3 suggestion would be a poorly coded binding or different dll versions for you and your clients ?

Hi Matthias, Another suggestion (?) If you use threads, check that the threads properly leave. If you abort/terminate a thread, you can be sure that the heap attached to the terminated threads can be a source of leak. (ie after the rule 1.check the setfont with the double buffering, I would state 2....
