Interesting. I think there should be much more than a warning here : the fix applied by the compiler - discarding a piece of code - may be inapropriate for the general case. A great care must be provided by the programmer to deal with this - and it may change the way of designing code. Finding that ...

another tricky one : if ((P-lfen)>=0) then PosLeft = P-lfen else PosLeft = 0 end if, P is a charCount, lfen is an integer fact. This line triggers a 'due to...'+'unreachable...' and discards 'PosLeft=0' (P-lfen seems to always be >=0) but : if (P>=lfen) then PosLeft = P-lfen else PosLeft = 0 end if,...

unreachable code removed by the compiler

7.2 is a nice jump (most of the troubles I had with 7.103 are gone ;) ) The type checker is an interesting feature - very tricky : updating SCS for 7.2 (sorry, I cannot stand msglayer's logic) I found something disturbing : This is my previous code for one predicate (so far ok for 7.1) : predicates ...

Some hints/advices to run Visual Prolog program in Linux (this advices suppose no tweaking of Wine). - install the application in the home directory - never run the application using the wine explorer window : use a script to cd to the install directory and launch your application with a wine yourex...

Hi everybody, Some preliminary tests show that WINE can run Visual Prolog 7.10 programs straight out of the box (beware, the . directory is the home directory - NOT the install directory). I used the latest Ubuntu release. For instance the Genetic example runs without any problems. Using multi threa...

Hi Juneau !

You can use a resourceID of course (but outside the GUI builder). Have a look at setBackgroundPictureFromRes for instance (see the predicates ending with 'FromRes')
As for the multiline feature, I doubt it is possible using the published code.

Linux (Wine) and Visual Prolog

Has somebody, somehow, tried to run VP-made applications (or even the IDE) using Wine / Linux ?

Package to build Servers & Clients

This package is designed to help you build client and multi-client servers in Visual Prolog CE 7. SCS (Simple Client Server) uses a native binding to a subset of winsock2 functions and does not use sockbind or mgslayer (at all). It is designed with multithreading in mind : a server (instance of scsS...

custom control : scintilla editor

Scintilla ( http://www.scintilla.org/ ) is a text editor with many features such as tooltips, autocompletion, folding, syntax coloring etc... This custom control wraps the scintilla dll to let you use it to replace the PDC's edit control. It has many more features and let you define your own keyword...

V1.4 : Fixed some bugs (and cleaned the code. This version should be ready if PDC decide to include the management of color attributes in the GUI wizard). The new feature is that you can decide which part of the picture has to be resized (see the picture). Practically, you can now resize 'theme' but...

V1.3. Thanks to the 'require' tip (thank you Thomas), you can now easily use this package in your project (just add the ui_ext.pack to your project and answer 'add all' for the ressources) This version features a mask support : you can define buttons with different shapes - not only squares (see the...

V1.2. Now supports a different image/color when the mouse button is pressed (see the switch). More support for the property editor (for instance, some style preset can be set from within the UI editor). Added eLabel that provides the same for the labels. You can now include the pictures as ressource...

Updated - starting V1.0 - The main button interface is now supported (Not really 'validate' yet, but next release will include it). At least the clickresponder is fully supported. - The predicates names have been changed. - The property IDE is now used for most of the properties (see the screenshot)...
